The player leads a diverse team attempting to stop ancient threats from destroying the world. Team members regularly discuss fears, regrets, identity, and responsibility. Male companions encompass multiple forms of masculinity, many of which resist traditional dominance expectations. Cooperation, trust-building, and emotional support are central to the story rather than secondary concerns. Characters frequently work through trauma while relying on friends and partners. The game presents heroism as relational and community-oriented, emphasizing dialogue, mutual respect, and emotional honesty. Although combat and violence remain central to gameplay, they are rarely portrayed as the sole measure of worth.
