Relational Manhood

Main character and ancient Greek demigod, Kratos, begins as a stern, emotionally restrained father attempting to guide his son Atreus. The story focuses on grief, parenting, and the challenge of breaking harmful cycles. Kratos initially embodies dominance through strength, silence, and violence, yet the narrative constantly pushes him toward emotional openness. His relationship with Atreus becomes a study in caring masculinity and self-regulation. Rather than glorifying domination, the game promotes patience, honesty, and emotional growth. Few major action games so directly examine a man’s effort to become a better father and a healthier emotional role model.
