After a tragic incident forces them to flee their home, brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz travel across the United States while attempting to stay together and survive. The game centers on responsibility, caregiving, family bonds, and moral development. Sean must balance his own fears and frustrations with the demands of raising and protecting his younger brother. Along the journey, the brothers encounter prejudice, kindness, exploitation, and community. Masculinity is frequently portrayed as a source of tension, with characters facing expectations about toughness, authority, and emotional restraint. The narrative consistently rewards empathy, communication, and care over domination or violence. Through Sean’s role as an older brother and caregiver, the game presents a powerful model of masculinity grounded in compassion, accountability, and emotional connection.
