Owen Sharma is a warm and quietly relational male character: a domestic labourer who grieves openly, cares attentively, expresses longing with restraint, and never once performs toughness or stoicism. He is not framed as remarkable for any of this — it is simply who he is.

Peter Quint is a villain whose dominant masculinity causes damage: his class resentment is channelled into control, his charm weaponised as coercion, his love expressed as possession.

Henry Wingrave is a man paralyzed by guilt, drinking himself into a stupor, haunted by the worst version of himself… but ultimately capable of choosing care over self-protection.
